VACATURE DETAILS
In a car to truck crash, the front of the truck should prevent the car to get over run by a truck. At the moment no standardized dynamic loadcase is available to simulate and/or test this. A test setup should be developed to asses the front of the truck in order to ensure compatibility for most European cars.
Goal
The goal of this project is to develop a (simulated) test procedure to asses the front of a truck for compatibility with most European cars.
Tasks
Literature study to find relevant loadcases.
Based on this study a choice can be made which (moving) (deformable) barrier can be used in a simulation and test.
If possible translation of the dynamic loadcase to a static loadcase.
Perform simulations in LS-Dyna to asses the current and future truck front.
Mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, materials engineering
Hands on knowledge of non linear FE analyses (preferable LS-Dyna).
Knowledge on non linear material behaviour.
